About the Student Success Committee of University Council:
The University Committee on Student Success focuses on the campus conditions that impact student success and progress to graduation. The committee reviews and proposes programs, policies, and structures that support student success. The committee will evaluate and draft proposals based on alignment with institutional graduation targets, financial sustainability, and alignment with other institutional priorities. Each year, no later than July 1, the committee will submit an Annual Report to the University Council and President. A copy of the report will be shared with the Faculty and Staff Senates.
Membership: The committee has 11 members. The membership represents Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and Athletics.

Faculty Handbook : 9.2.17 Joint Student Success Committee
- Authority: The Joint Student Success Committee will operate as a standing joint committee of the faculty under the provisions of section 8.9.3.
- Co-Chairs: The Joint Student Success Committee will be co-chaired by the Vice President of Student Experience and Success and a faculty member selected by the faculty representatives on the committee.
- Membership will consist of nine (9) members: Vice President for Student Experience and Success, four appropriate staff positions, as designated by the Vice President for Student Experience and Success, one at large faculty representative from graduate programs, and 3 at large faculty representatives from the undergraduate or graduate programs.
- Scope & Charge: The Joint Committee on Student Success will address campus conditions that impact student success and progress to graduation. The committee reviews and proposes programs, policies, and structures that support student success. The committee will evaluate and draft proposals based on alignment with institutional graduation targets, financial sustainability, and alignment with other institutional priorities, and forward those proposals to the Provost and the appropriate faculty governance bodies.
- Reporting: Each year, not later than July 1, the Committee will submit to the Faculty Senate and the Academic Affairs Committees an annual report of the Committee’s activities.
