The provost and senior vice president of Augsburg University reports to the president, serves as a key member of the university leadership team, and provides leadership, support, and strategic direction for the faculty and academic program, the student affairs division, and offices that support student learning, development, and success. It is expected that the provost will work closely with the faculty and university leaders in shaping and articulating a clear vision for the academic program of the future, a vision that aligns with Augsburg’s mission, strategic plan, and the needs of diverse 21st century learners.
As the chief administrative officer of the academic and student life divisions of the university, the provost works closely with the president and other vice presidents, deans, faculty leaders across the campus, and members of the provost’s office staff and serves as administrative liaison for the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Regents. The provost holds in trust the whole of the institution and stands in for the president when the president is not on campus.
The new provost will join Augsburg University at what has been described as a “sensitive and pivotal moment” in the life of the university, a time that will see significant growth and change that frames a remarkable leadership opportunity.
