Hand Sanitizer, Social Distancing, and Air Quality Measures for Start of Classes

  • Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes stations are in place at the entrances of Minneapolis campus buildings.
  • Disinfectant wipes, towels, and spray are being distributed for staff, faculty, and students to clean up common spaces in offices and similar shared spaces after use.
  • Before classes begin, chairs will be removed from classrooms to maintain social distancing. The removal/rearrangement of furniture also will be completed to accommodate physical distancing in other campus spaces and physical distance floor markers will be installed.
  • HEPA Air Purifiers are scheduled to arrive and will be used in classrooms and run 24 hours daily.
  • HVAC systems are bringing in fresh air 24 hours a day. All Minneapolis campus buildings had new filters installed this summer and MERV 13 high-grade air filters will be installed this fall as they become available.
  • Augsburg’s policy since April is consistent with the statewide executive order issued in July by Governor Walz. The Augsburg policy: All staff, faculty and students must wear face coverings while in any common areas while on Augsburg property. Wearing masks does not replace the need to adhere to frequent hand washing, avoiding touching the face, and practicing social distancing, our best tools to help prevent the spread of illness.
