Glass Dividers, Floor Markings, and Air Quality Measures in the Works

  • Find key dates and how Augsburg is preparing for fall semester during the COVID-19 pandemic, with floor markings, glass dividers being installed, air quality measures, and other projects in the works.
  • Augsburg regularly installs new anti-microbial filters in each residential unit, and has done so this summer in preparation for fall. The university also has invested in upgrading all of its HVAC filters across campus to a minimum efficiency reporting value of 13, which is consistent with superior commercial buildings. Augsburg’s mechanical engineering expertise is provided by Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors. Our dedicated engineer is on site weekly at Augsburg and is in the process of adjusting the campus air handling systems to maximize fresh air intake in our buildings.
  • All classrooms to be in use have been set up for social distancing and numbered for contact tracing.
  • Signs are being posted around the campus highlighting our required public health practices for students, faculty, and staff returning to campus.
  • Augsburg’s policy since April is consistent with the statewide executive order issued in July by Governor Walz. The Augsburg policy: All staff, faculty and students must wear face coverings while in any common areas while on Augsburg property. Wearing masks does not replace the need to adhere to frequent hand washing, avoiding touching the face, and practicing social distancing, our best tools to help prevent the spread of illness.
  • Fobs were reactivated August 17 for all faculty and staff.
