Colleges embracing WAC generally recognize that writing is both a valuable method of <strong>learning<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>assessment<\/strong>. WEC affirms\u00a0the foundations of WAC, while\u00a0also intentionally integrating\u00a0writing <strong>instruction<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>assessment<\/strong>\u00a0through <strong>longterm shared\u00a0faculty commitment<\/strong>. You can read more about WEC at the\u00a0University of Minnesota&#8217;s WEC <a href=\"http:\/\/wec.umn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, which includes departmental\u00a0&#8220;Writing Plans&#8221; from over 30 disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Writing in the Disciplines (<strong>WID<\/strong>) focuses on teaching students to write\u00a0in a <strong>specialized<\/strong> academic or professional <strong>genre<\/strong>.
