MDH is encouraging the public and providers to look to these recommendations for the best science-based guidance on immunizations at this time. More detailed information about the recommendations can be found on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.state.mn.us\/people\/immunize\/access.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/links-2.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%252F%252Fwww.health.state.mn.us%252Fpeople%252Fimmunize%252Faccess.html\/1\/0101019972b7cee5-692d577d-783c-4f32-89e7-27ca4ae1cd37-000000\/Oa4y6oIRAgdSIF7i22F8u7cHnNDlqZJGDWB9Sf34XCE%3D423&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1759872484581000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3O3HlSiVvMvMkI7uCLRcP8\">COVID-19 Vaccine Access for Minnesotans<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>March 2024<\/strong>: the CDC released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/ncird\/whats-new\/updated-respiratory-virus-guidance.html\"><span class=\"s2\">updated respiratory virus guidance<\/span><\/a> in response to the decreasing risk that COVID-19 poses to the population. This updated guidance includes strategies to protect people at highest risk of getting seriously ill and applies to COVID-19 as well as other common viral respiratory illnesses like flu and RSV.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>March 2024<\/strong>: As of March 2024, students, faculty, and staff no longer need to complete the Augsburg self-reporting form following a positive COVID-19 test or exposure. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/respiratory-viruses\/prevention\/precautions-when-sick.html\">Follow CDC recommendations to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses when you&#8217;re sick.<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>If You&#8217;re Sick, Stay Home<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick) if you have respiratory virus symptoms that aren&#8217;t better explained by another cause. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>When Symptoms Improve<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, <b>both<\/b> are true:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"ul2\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">Your symptoms are getting better overall, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\">You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you go back to your normal activities, keep in mind that you may still be able to spread the virus that made you sick, even if you are feeling better. Vaccines can offer added protection to people who had COVID-19, including protection against being hospitalized from a new infection.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Need Help?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoples-center.org\/covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.peoples-center.org\/covid-19&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1722006162304000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0ovgfZUoidcHGzyZ_BIPMl\">People\u2019s Center<\/a> provides COVID immunizations and testing.
