Augsburg University recognizes that some of its members use first names other than their legal first names to identify themselves. Because of this, the University allows faculty and staff employees to use a first name different than the legal first name on certain university\u00a0records. \u00a0If you are an Augsburg student employee the student policy applies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Augsburg reserves the right to remove a chosen first name if it contains inappropriate or offensive language, or if the name is being used for misrepresentation. \u00a0Any review would be conducted by Human Resources.<\/p>\n

Click here <\/a>to request to have a chosen first name instead of a legal first name reflected within specific university\u00a0records. The request goes to IT to implement the change. \u00a0It takes approximately 5 business days for the change to be implemented.<\/p>\n

Please note that changing your chosen name for certain records does not change your legal name with Augsburg University. \u00a0Below is a listing of all of the areas in which your chosen name will appear (once changed) and areas in which your legal name will still appear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
