This is a list of technology resources that can be used to enable work from off-campus. <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/it\/get-help\/faculty-and-staff-support-lfcs\/\">Contact your LFC<\/a> for help and more information.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get a computer: Bring your University-provided laptop home.<\/li>\n<li>Consider getting a headset and webcam (if needed) to meet remotely with your team. IT recommends the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Logitech-C920S-Webcam-Privacy-Shutter\/dp\/B07K95WFWM\/\">Logitech C920S HD Pro Webcam<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Logitech-Headset-H390-Noise-Cancelling\/dp\/B000UXZQ42\/\">Logitech USB Headset H390<\/a> should you want to purchase either. Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/it\/mfa-faq\/\">Multi-factor Authentication on our website<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/it\/get-help\/faculty-and-staff-support-lfcs\/\">Talk to your LFC<\/a> about getting enrolled if you are not already enrolled.<\/p>\n<h2>Start Your Remote Workday<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Sit down at your workspace and start your computer.<\/li>\n<li>Connect to your home WiFi. IT suggests that all <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/it\/get-help\/work-remotely\/securing-your-home-work-environment\/\">home WiFi networks be password protected<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Start your web browser (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/\">Chrome suggested<\/a>) and login to <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/\">Inside Augsburg<\/a>\u00a0and then your Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.<\/li>\n<li>If you use Google Hangouts (useful for communicating with your team) <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/hangouts\/answer\/6083257?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&amp;hl=en\">consider setting the status<\/a> to indicate your location (i.e. &#8220;working from home&#8221;).<\/li>\n<li>If you need any of the specialized applications listed above,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/go.augsburg.edu\/rdp\">connect to the Remote Work server<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Stay connected with your colleagues<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/hangouts\/?hl=en#topic=6386410\">Direct message or group chat with Google Hangouts<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with colleagues remotely using <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/users\/answer\/9300131?hl=en\">Google Hangouts<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/augsburg.zoom.us\">Zoom<\/a>.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/206618765-Zoom-Video-Tutorials\">Zoom Video Tutorials<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.augsburg.edu\/support\/index.php?\/default_import\/Knowledgebase\/Article\/View\/732\/0\/using-zoom-video-conferencing-facultystaffstudents\">Zoom Overview<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Store and share files\n<ul>\n<li>Use Remote Work to access network drives.<\/li>\n<li>Use Google Drive to access shared documents and folders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get Ready Be prepared to work remotely by following this checklist.
