Conferences at Augsburg University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the summer months, Augsburg University is able to provide both facilities and housing for summer conference groups.\u00a0 Options exist for both youth athletic or academic camps\/conferences or adult-based conferences.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Meeting Space<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many campus spaces are available for rental during the summer months for camps and\/or conferences.\u00a0 Work with an event planner to discuss needs and space availability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Conference Housing Options<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg has two different styles of conference\/camp housing available.\u00a0 Work with your event coordinator to determine which style would be most appropriate for your group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anderson Hall\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capacity:\u00a0 175 beds\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Style:\u00a0 Adult, suite style living.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anderson Hall is air-conditioned.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rooms are arranged in groups of 2 people to 15 people with semi-private bathrooms.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most spaces have full kitchens (utensils and tableware NOT provided) but are furnished with beds, desks and dressers in each bedroom.\u00a0 Common space furniture is not provided.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The building has a controlled, secure entrance.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each floor has lounges and\/or study rooms for small meetings and\/or gatherings.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elevator access.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urness Hall<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capacity: \u00a0 300 beds\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Style:\u00a0 Traditional dorm style (2 person rooms with one large bathroom per floor).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Features:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each room is a double occupancy dorm room that has two twin beds, two desks and two dressers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each floor has one large floor bathroom with several shower and toilet stalls.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each room is provided one fan.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The building Rentals<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Linen rentals are available for summer housing guests for a one-time fee.\u00a0 Rental linen kit includes a disposable cup and bar of soap as well as one blanket, pillow, top sheet, bottom sheet, pillowcase, towel, and washcloth.\u00a0 Groups requiring a linen exchange can make arrangements with University Events.\u00a0 Final linen reservations are due 7 business days prior to guest arrival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Athletic Camps<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special arrangements for athletic camps may need to be made because your event will need access to our athletic facilities and fitness center. \u00a0 Work with your event planner to coordinate with the Athletic Facilities staff to ensure that all of the necessary reservations have been made for your event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Reservations<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To reserve space at Augsburg University for a summer conference or camp, please contact the University Events office at 612.330.1104 or at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:events@augsburg.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">events@augsburg.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 Existing groups in good standing are granted first-right of refusal on dates and spaces that have been contracted in prior years.\u00a0 Uncontracted space is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and is based upon campus availability.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Camps with Minors in Attendance<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of groups with persons under 18 years of age, the ratio of counselors to youth must adhere to the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1K152-HJEk7K21LPCbpcaNTfEjGhV0PoePunLJ2GFe2Q\/edit?usp=sharing\">minors on campus policy<\/a>.\u00a0 Counselors must be 18-years of age or older, should be present in the dorms when the campers are,\u00a0 and may be required to participate in sexual harassment training prior to being hired.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Camps with minors in attendance must notify Augsburg University and follow all required protocols for training and monitoring camp\/conference staff\/personnel.\u00a0 More information on required protocol will be provided at the time of contracting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Minimum Group Size<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A minimum of 10 people is required to book housing at Augsburg University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Full-Summer Housing<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to housing limitations, we do not offer housing for full-summer residential customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Food Service<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The campus on-site caterer is able to provide meal services for breakfast, lunch and dinner in our traditional campus cafeteria.\u00a0 The catering office is also able to handle catering needs that any conference or camp group may have while on campus.\u00a0 Pricing and cafeteria access is dependent upon your actual menu and total number of attendees.\u00a0 Work with your event planner to discuss options and to get a food service quote for your event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Rental Fees<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please work with an event planner to determine actual needs and to get a final quote for your event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Contracting &amp; Payment<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All groups using on-campus housing or meeting space must be contracted to host their event at Augsburg University and adhere to all contracted policies and procedures. \u00a0 A 25% deposit is due at the time that the contract is signed and returned.\u00a0 The remaining balance will be due at the conclusion of your event.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Insurance<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All external groups must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance meeting the listed insurance requirements in the summer contract.\u00a0 Augsburg University must be listed as an additional insured and copy must be provided to University Events prior to the start of the camp or conference.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It may be possible to purchase insurance through Augsburg University.\u00a0 Costs for one-time use policies which are purchased through Augsburg University are the responsibility of the external group and are dependent on approval by the Augsburg insurance provider.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Check-in &amp; Check-out<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augsburg University will provide staff for check-in and check-out for up to two hours on the day of check-in\/out.\u00a0 If your group will require more than one check-in or check-out timeframe, the group must cover the cost of student labor for the additional hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check-out for groups must be complete by 10:00am on the final day of the camp if there is another group coming into the same space within 24 hours of your camp.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check-in for groups will be available at 4:00pm on the first day of camp if there is a residential group in the same space prior to your arrival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Groups not checked out by the designated time will be charged a late check-out fee of $400.00.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Camp Rosters<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Camp rosters will be provided to your camp coordinator by the University Events office to identify who will be assigned to each room.\u00a0 Your complete camp roster is due back to University Events no later than five (5) business days prior to the start of your camp.\u00a0 Late rosters or extensive changes may be charged a late\/change fee of $100.00.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lost Keys\/Fobs<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Camps will be charged for keys and\/or fobs that are lost, damaged or not-returned by the designated time.\u00a0 Costs for replacement is outlined in the rental contract.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Parking<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guest and visitor parking is extremely limited on campus.\u00a0 Work with your event planner to determine if on-campus parking will be available for your group before discussing parking with prospective attendees.\u00a0 Parking cannot be
