We use this form to double-check that the placement will meet your licensure requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s10\">Spring 2021 Placement Request Form<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s3\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s4\">This is for students who would like Stephanie or Emily to find them a placement on their behalf. If you have already filled out this form but haven&#8217;t received placement information yet, thank you for your patience. Placements typically take 3-4 weeks<br \/>\nto confirm and have been markedly more challenging to find this<br \/>\nsemester.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Step 2:<\/b><\/span><b> <\/b><span class=\"s4\">Once your placement has been verified by Stephanie or Emily, you will<br \/>\nreceive an email containing step-by-step directions on how to document<br \/>\nyour field experience. <b>Please read this email carefully as the process has changed from previous semesters.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s12\">Like last semester, students are <b>not <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><b>required<\/b> to complete field experience hours or fieldwork-related course assignments for the Spring 2021 semester. <\/span><span class=\"s13\"><b>You can choose to opt-in or out of field experience<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s4\">, depending on your personal circumstances, with no impact on your coursework or grades. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s6\"><b>However, teacher licensing requirements have <\/b><\/span><span class=\"s14\"><b>not<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><b> been waived by the state licensing board. <\/b>The board has not released any updates regarding field experience or student teaching for the 2021-2022 school year. This means that teacher candidates must still complete at least 100 hours of field experience <b>prior to the semester in which they plan to student teach<\/b> as well as other program-specific field experience requirements in order to receive an initial teaching license.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s8\"><i>NOTE:\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><i>If you already hold a teaching license and are pursuing an additional<br \/>\nlicense through Augsburg, your field experience requirements may be<br \/>\ndifferent. This will initiate the licensing process. At the end of the online<br \/>\napplication, a checklist will populate indicating any additional materials that must be mailed to the PELSB office. We were fortunate to receive a generous grant from the Minnesota Governor\u2019s Emergency Education Relief (GEER). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p25\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"s4\">Only students who are juniors, seniors, or MAT status may apply. The grants will cover only courses that lead to licensure. Undergraduate and graduate students<br \/>\nare required to apply each semester for a one or two credit tuition award.
