\"New\"\u25a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Education Department Scholarships for 2019-2020: The Education Department of Augsburg University is pleased to announce that we are currently accepting applications for several scholarships to be awarded for the upcoming 2018-19 academic year. Any student interested in any of these scholarships is invited to send to Cheryl Sticha (sticha@augsburg.edu) their name, contact information (phone and email), undergrad or graduate status, GPA, declared or intended major, scholarships being applied for and a brief paragraph stating qualifications for each scholarship for which the student is applying. Applicants are allowed to apply for any and all scholarships for which they qualify. The deadline for all applications is 4:30 pm on Friday, March 8, 2019. \"New\"\u25a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Teach MSP Career Fair on Saturday, April 13th: On Saturday, April 13th, more than 15 schools will be joining together to host the Teach MSP Career Fair. The Teach MSP Career Fair is inviting all teachers, school leaders and paraprofessionals to meet with principals for on-the-spot interviews. Principals will be hiring for all subject areas and are eager to meet excited candidates.<\/p>\n

\"New\"\u25a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Macalester College Hosts “Cradle to Prison Algorithm” Event: You are invited to a unique community forum exploring the “Cradle to Prison Algorithm,” on February 26th at 4 pm. in the Harmon Room, Dewitt Library. The event will address the issue of how data are being used to impact the lives of children and families in our communities. The speakers from Data for Black Lives will explore how data are increasingly used to develop predictive analytics about our children. Although St. Paul has ended the data sharing joint powers agreement between schools, police, and the attorney’s office due to community pushback, it is still vital that we educate ourselves about these initiatives. Light refreshments will be served starting at 4 pm.<\/p>\n

\u25a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Free NES Prep Sessions! Invite your classmates! Registration is required. The NES reading and writing prep sessions at Augsburg University on 4\/1\/2019 & 4\/8\/2019. For those of you who have not passed the NES exam or partially passed the NES exam, you can pick and choose which sessions to attend. We advise students to take the NES exam right after the prep sessions while the material is fresh in your mind. \u25a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Missing Voices: Equity in Education Summit: The sixth Missing Voices: Equity in Education Summit is titled “Advocate: Access & Act!” The event is focused on the intersections of advocacy, civic engagement, and equity in education. The event will be at the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Minneapolis Campus Event Center. The date is February 28th, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m..<\/p>\n
