Stat. \u00a7 8705.1000<\/h3>\n<p>For initial licensure, each program requires a student teaching period of a minimum of 12 continuous weeks, full time, face-to-face, which could be split into two placements, and in compliance with program-specific field experience and student teaching requirements set forth in parts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/rules\/8705.2000\">8705.2000<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/rules\/8705.2600\">8705.2600<\/a> and parts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/rules\/8710.3000\">8710.3000 <\/a>to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/rules\/8710.8080\">8710.8080.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Application Process for Student Teaching<\/h2>\n<p>1. Attend the Student Teaching Information Session &#8211; Specific meeting times and links will be shared via the <a href=\"http:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/edstudents\/newsletter\/\">department newsletter<\/a>, email, methods courses, and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.augsburg.edu\/edstudents\/education-department-calendar\/\">department calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spring Semester Student Teachers<\/strong> \u2013 Information session in September<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fall Semester Student Teachers<\/strong> \u2013 Information session in January<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Confirm all field experience hours and coursework will be completed prior to the student teaching semester.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Schedule an advisor meeting <\/strong>to confirm coursework will be complete<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact the Education Placement Coordinator <\/strong>to confirm field hours will be complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Complete the Student Teaching Application through Anthology. This includes preparing a resume and cover letter. Candidates eligible to student teach will receive an email to the Student Teaching Application from Anthology.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spring Semester Student Teachers<\/strong> \u2013 Applications due in October<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fall Semester Student Teachers<\/strong> \u2013 Applications due in February<\/li>\n<li>The Clinical Experience Team reviews all applications to verify applicants have met the requirements for student teaching (completion of field experience hours, coursework, and GPA.)<\/li>\n<li>Once the application has been verified, the Education Placement Coordinator will begin requesting and confirming a placement for you.<\/li>\n<li>Placements will be sent via email from Anthology Portfolio.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Contact your cooperating teacher vial email to set up a time to meet.<\/li>\n<li>Look for an email from your Augsburg University Supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. Attend the student teaching kick-off meeting prior to the semester you will student teach.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 Register for the appropriate student teaching course and EdTPA Seminar.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Student teachers attend both student teaching seminars and EdTPA seminars during student teaching. The course Moodle pages will have more information on meeting times and links.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Resources for Student Teaching<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/15tX4W6fL5EMAmrrCzM_hdACQ7z1PRrdDed-Z4NEGaYE\/edit?usp=share_link\">Student Teaching Handbook<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The handbook provide details on the expectations, requirements, and responsibilities for student teachers, cooperating teachers, and supervisors &#8211; the triad.
