Jacqueline deVries<\/a><\/strong>, MA, PhD<\/strong>
\nProfessor of History\"\"<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Jacqueline deVries has been teaching at Augsburg since 1994. A specialist in European and British social and cultural history, her scholarly research focuses on the relationships between religion, science, and social movements in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A creative instructor, she was the recipient of the 2021 Distinguished Contribution to Teaching from Augsburg University. She is especially interested in intercultural learning and has led study-abroad trips to Germany, Poland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, and the Czech Republic. During her time at Augsburg, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including History department chair, Division chair, Director of Women’s Studies and founding Director of the Women’s Resource Center, and Director of General Education. In her work as a Batalden Fellow of Applied Ethics, Jacqui is working to build institutional pathways that support continual dialogue on ethics and integrity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Soebin Jang<\/a>,<\/strong> MA, PhD<\/strong>
\nAssociate Professor, International Business and Management\"\"<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Soebin Jang joined Augsburg University in 2019, with a background in the <\/span>fields of human resources and management. He currently teaches\u00a0<\/span>management courses, including Principles of Management and\u00a0<\/span>International Business. In his classes, he aims to provide students with an\u00a0<\/span>engaging and meaningful learning experience. His research interests\u00a0<\/span>include corporate social responsibility, meaningful work, servant leadership,\u00a0<\/span>and organization development and change. Before receiving his PhD, he\u00a0<\/span>worked as a management consultant in areas of corporate social\u00a0<\/span>responsibility, sustainability and climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tara Mader<\/strong><\/a> (MA, PhD)<\/strong>
\nAssociate Professor of Kinesiology\"\"<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Tara joined the Kinesiology Department at Augsburg in 2018. She has a passion for teaching and mentoring students in STEM and healthcare, embracing the learning that comes from experiences. Her core teaching responsibilities include Human Anatomy and Physiology at both the undergraduate and graduate\/professional student levels. Additionally, she teaches courses in career exploration, college transition\/success, and medical terminology. Tara champions the importance of infusing ethics and civic discourse into coursework with a focus on cultivating professional accountability and responsible leadership in students. Her research interests lie in bringing together psychology, physiology, and medicine to investigate ways in which movement and mindfulness can reduce stress and adverse symptoms across diverse populations. Through her work as a Batalden Fellow of Applied Ethics, Tara is focused on creating and fostering spaces and opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage in productive ethical conversations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
