The Augsburg experience is supported by an engaged\u00a0community that is committed to intentional diversity in its life and work. An Augsburg education\u00a0is defined by excellence in the liberal arts and professional studies, guided by the faith and\u00a0values of the Lutheran Church, and shaped by its urban and global settings.<\/p>\n<h2>Accessibility at Augsburg<\/h2>\n<p>The Accessibility at Augsburg Committee exists to sustain and advance the\u00a0University\u2019s\u00a0commitment to accessible physical, instructional, technological and attitudinal environments for all students, staff,\u00a0faculty, and guests of Augsburg\u00a0University. The committee serves as a catalyst for change and\u00a0continuous improvement to assure equitable and effective access. The committee seeks input, involvement and support from all members of the campus community. \u00a0The committee\u00a0reports directly to the President of the\u00a0University and is headed by the Vice President for Student Affairs.<\/p>\n<h3>Goals<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>To improve accessibility of physical, instructional, technological and attitudinal environments.<\/li>\n<li>To become a leader in Higher Education in accessible education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Objectives<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess accessibility and implement solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Promote and facilitate the creation and enforcement of accessibility policies.<\/li>\n<li>Measure and monitor progress.<\/li>\n<li>Solicit feedback from students, faculty, staff and guests.<\/li>\n<li>Educate all members of the campus community including, but not limited to staff, faculty and\u00a0students about their responsibilities for accessibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Committee Administration<\/h2>\n<p>The Committee reports to the President and is co-chaired by the Vice President of Student Affairs and Director, Center for Learning and Accessible Student Services (CLASS).<br \/>\nThe Committee will make an annual report to the President which will also be posted on the<br \/>\nmoodle site.<\/p>\n<p>Membership includes students, staff, and faculty engaged in physical, instructional, and<br \/>\ntechnological accessibility work, along with those who are interested in issues and opportunities<br \/>\nrelated to the work of the Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will meet routinely to develop annual objectives, seek input, address situations<br \/>\nand needs, and report on progress.
